One factory will produce chips for Tesla vehicles and Optimus humanoid robots, and the other will be designed for AI data centers in space. The project includes a research fab under construction on Tesla's Giga Texas campus, expected to cost about $3 billion and capable of producing a few thousand wafers per month initially. The project aims to eventually produce one terawatt of computing capacity per year using Intel's 14A manufacturing process. |
