Description | A new data center project by TeraWulf in Hancock County, Kentucky, involving a total investment of up to $14 billion. The project includes up to $4 billion in site development and $10 billion or more in additional investment by a future data center tenant. Construction is expected to begin in 2026 with the data center coming online in late 2027. The site is a former Century Aluminum smelter, and the project aims to leverage existing electric infrastructure with 482 megawatts of electric capacity. The data center will employ about 80-100 permanent positions and is expected to generate significant state tax revenue and local school tax contributions. |
