Description | The ongoing construction of TeraWulf's Lake Mariner data center in Somerset, Niagara County, involves adding new buildings to support cryptocurrency mining and artificial intelligence computing. Construction began in 2022 on the site of a former coal-fired power plant, with several buildings completed and more approved for construction. The project is expected to create around 200 full-time jobs and is financed partly by $3.2 billion in bonds issued by TeraWulf. The data center will support up to 750 megawatts of power demand using power from the New York Power Authority and existing infrastructure from the former power plant. |
