Description

Terminal Petikemas Makassar (TPM) was awarded to Portek for a period of 10 years by the state port operating company in May 2003. Portek was to jointly operate TPM with its partner of Pelayaran Nusantara Meratus. The port was located in the Island of Sulawesi and it was the largest port in the eastern Indonesian region with a volume of 200,000 teu. It was expected that the company would recieve about US$1.8 million in the first full year of operations and US$3.5 million within five years time from port operations. The contract did not include major capital investment since the port was already established and operational. In 2006, Filipino International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) acquired 95% stake in the company for US%5.6 million. Makassar had a throughput of 239,522 TEU in 2005. None None
