Description
Description | The 190 MW Termobahia Power Plant was sponsored by Asea Brown Boveri (ABB), which owned 49% of the project, Petrobras with 49%, and A&A Electricity Investment (Jersey) Limited with the remaining 2%. The project was established for the construction, financing, operation, and maintenance of a natural gas fired, combined-cycle power plant located in Mararipe, state of Bahia. The plant started commmercial operation in September 2002 and was selling its electricity to the spot market. The plant also produced 350 metric tons/h of steam which was sold to Petrobas in return for the natural gas provided by Petrobras. The project got financial support from IADB. In April 2008, the state-owned company acquired the totality of Termobahia's shares. Corrected only text/grammar (IR) |
