Information Northeast Frontier Railway [NFR] - II has come up with Tetlia-Byrnihat New Railway Line with a ticket size of 1304.62 INR Crores. This project in Railway Track sub-sector involves The current status of the project is - and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project This 21.5 km line has been declared as a National Project. The planned railway from Tetelia in Assam to Shillong in Meghalaya, via Byrnihat can promote reliable and smooth supply of essential commodities in a landlocked state of Meghalaya. The line shall be important step in further extension of connectivity upto Shillong. The project is partially commissioned as on 05.10.2018. The Tetelia Bypass Y leg is commissioned on 17.10.2020. Physical progress as of 19/5/23- 84.05 percentage Revised Targeted date of Completion- 31/03/2025, however, is subject NOC by G/o Meghalaya for resumption of works. Last meeting with CS/Meghalaya and Gm/CON/NFR held on 25.03.2022. Recent meeting with DGP/Meghalaya and CAO/CON-3 held on 05.07.2022.GM/CON raised this issue in DONER meeting held in Guwahati on 8.10.2022.
