Description | The $60.0 million, 50.5-MW, Tetuan Wind Power Project is being developed by a consortium that includes Vestas Wind Systems, Germa Energie Environnement (which replaced Tramontana) and Electricite de France. The project involves the placement of 84 600-kW generators on top of 45-meter high masts every 100 meters along the Koudia Blanco crest, each with three 20-meter-long blades. A centralized and computerized control center will link the complex to the national grid. The Tetuoan project is being developed through a BOT arrangement. A 20-year power-purchase-agreement was signed with the Office National de l'Electricite (ONE), beginning in 1997. ONE will cover the cost of connecting the project to the national grid. (This project is the 5-MW separated from a pilot project of the same name that is being developed by the Moroccan Renewable Energy Development Center and financed by KfW).
