Description

MARA Holdings, Inc., through its subsidiary Volt Texas, LLC, acquired nearly all interests in MAT 1177 LLC, which owns a large powered land site in Matagorda County, Texas. The site spans over 1,200 acres and is tied to a letter agreement for 2,000 megawatts of power capacity. The project aims to develop a large-scale digital infrastructure campus for high-performance computing and Bitcoin mining in partnership with Starwood Digital Ventures. The acquisition price is structured as milestone payments up to $600 million, contingent on development milestones. The site is expected to provide up to 1 GW of grid capacity by October 2027 and up to 2 GW by April 2028. Upon full energization and including the anticipated Long Ridge Energy & Power acquisition, MARA's potential power capacity is expected to reach approximately 4.8 GW.
