Thacker Pass Lithium Project Electrification

ABB has been selected by Lithium Americas Corp. to provide electrification technologies for the Thacker Pass Lithium Project in Nevada, which is the largest known measured and indicated lithium resource in North America. The project aims to produce up to 40,000 metric tons of lithium carbonate annually, supporting the manufacture of batteries for approximately 800,000 electric vehicles per year. ABB will deliver integrated, high-efficiency power infrastructure including switchgear, motor control centers, variable speed drives, auxiliary power distribution packages, and a site-wide power management system, all integrated within optimized electrical buildings.
