Description | ABB is delivering a comprehensive electrification and power management infrastructure for the Thacker Pass lithium project in Nevada, owned by Lithium Americas. The project targets an annual production of 40,000 metric tonnes of lithium carbonate to support the US electric vehicle and energy storage markets. ABB will supply electrical equipment including switchgear, motor control centres, variable speed drives, auxiliary power distribution packages, and a site-wide power management system housed in modular electrical buildings optimized for remote environments. The project aims to establish a model for sustainable mining with integrated digital monitoring and energy management. |
