The Thacker Pass lithium project in Nevada is a large-scale mining project focused on lithium extraction. The first stage of the project is forecasted to cost between $1.3 billion and $1.6 billion, with construction progressing towards mechanical completion expected in late 2027. The project includes significant procurement and construction activities, with over 1,300 workers currently on site and peak construction expected to exceed 2,000 workers. The project aims to produce 40,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate annually, supporting the production of approximately 800,000 electric vehicles.
