Description

In October of 2005, Anurak Water Treatment Facilities Co. Ltd. (Anurak) signed a 20-year BOT contract for two water treatment plants at the Amata Nakorn Industrial Estate in Thailand with capacities of 10,000 cubic meters per day and 16,000 cubic meters per day respectively. The project company was also to design, build, operate and maintain a wastewater treatment plant in the same area with a capacity of 10,400 cubic meters per day. Anurak was to provide the services for domestic and industrial use water and wastewater treatment. Anurak was a subsidiary of Ranhill Utilities Bhd.'s 70% owned subsidiary Ranhill KWI Sdn Bhd and a local company, Amata Quality Water Co. Ltd. The total cost for the project was expected to be US$5.62 million (RM 21.2 million). The project was expected to be funded initially through capital injection by the shareholders of Ranhill KWI and internally-generated funds.
