Description | The Thane-Borivali twin tunnel project will connect Thane (Tikujiniwadi) and Borivali-Magathane. The project will impact around 572 informal homes in areas such as Rupvate Nagar, Milind Nagar, Pharlewadi, SRA projects, and nearby footpaths in the Magathane region. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has started the rehabilitation process for affected families and is offering three resettlement options: monetary compensation, permanent housing in ready-to-move flats at Borivali Integrated Housing Complex or Rental Housing Scheme at Mira-Bhayander, and rehabilitation under the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) scheme with new homes at the same site after redevelopment. |
