Description | The New York State Police and local law enforcement agencies will increase patrols to target impaired and reckless driving during the Thanksgiving travel season. The enforcement period runs from November 22 to November 30, 2025, funded by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC). The initiative includes fixed sobriety checkpoints and the use of Concealed Identity Traffic Enforcement (CITE) patrol vehicles to detect distracted drivers. Lane closures for road and bridge construction projects on New York State highways will be suspended from November 26 to December 1, 2025, to ease holiday travel. |
