The Berlin Wall is an immersive and multi-users, 40-minute long, virtual reality journey that offers a comprehensive and balanced exploration of the Berlin Wall's history. This experience combines state-of-the-art VR technology with in depth archival research and academic expertise in order to identify the most poignant testimonies along the historical timeline of the Berlin Wall from multiple perspectives. Visitors will virtually step into the divided Berlin of the past, experiencing life on both sides of the Wall and gaining a deeper understanding of the global impact and complexities surrounding this pivotal period in history. Designed for both educational and emotional engagement, the experience aims to connect users with the personal and political narratives that shaped the Berlin Wall, its fall and the legacy it left on Germany and Europe. The experience, created by Tina Ahrens and Karim Ben Khelifa (creator of The Enemy), utilizes Lucid Realities' proprietary VR multi-user and distribution technology to enable users to explore expansive virtual spaces together. This project is a co-production led by Lucid Realities, an award winning production company dedicated to immersive storytelling and based in Paris, France, together with Filmtank, an internationally renowned german documentary and crossmedia production studio, located in Berlin, Hamburg and Stuttgart.
