Description
Description | EUOzWorld develops an interdisciplinary (law, politics and business) teaching and research Module on the role of the EU, and its relations with Australia, in the new global context defined by great power competition, declined multilateral cooperation and increased nationalism. In particular, it explores the external relations of the EU and its cooperation with Australia, with respect to four themes reflecting key global challenges: (1) trade and economic security; (2) AI governance; (3) climate change; and (4) migration. The Module is delivered as a blended (online and face-to-face) interactive unit at the University of Canberra (UC). Based at the interdisciplinary Faculty of Business, Government and Law, it will be offered as an open elective to UC students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, embracing learning technologies and communication methods in advanced online and hybrid teaching. Module's teaching activities encompass work-integrated learning principles and are based on complex real-world scenarios, aimed at developing the practical skills of students. The Module activities primarily target UC students in the fields of law, politics and business, but it will also be of interest for students in other fields (humanities, science). Secondary target audiences include: policy makers at local and federal levels; civil society groups; working professionals and students who otherwise do not have access to EU studies. The Module brings together a genuine international team of experts acquainted with interdisciplinary methods, practical experience and knowledge on the EU and Australia, and demonstrated expertise in hybrid and and online teaching. The module builds on the experience and EU expertise developed in the framework of other EU projects at the University of Canberra and expands this cooperation to new fields and academic networks. |
