Description

Description

"The Module ""The European Green Deal. Analysis and insights"" is focused on the EU's environmental law in the context of the European Green Deal. The European Green Deal will shape the environmental law and policy of the following years for all the citizens of the EU and will address critical issues such as clean energy, climate change, circular economy, smart mobility, or an environmentally-friendly food system. However, there is still very little knowledge on this new policy of the EU among our students and other stakeholders. This module will contribute to filling this training gap. The Module will primarily concern the specific curriculum of law and environmental sciences studies of the University of Vigo. The work plan includes an annual main course that will explain in detail the background and main strategies of the European Green Deal. The Module will also foster dialogue between the academic world and society, including practitioners, civil servants, and civil society actors. The Module will follow a threefold interdisciplinary approach: a) it will be mainly taught by teachers from different legal backgrounds, b) one session will be devoted to interdisciplinary views to the European Green Deal (history, economics, and ecology), and c) the targeted audience also has an interdisciplinary profile. The Module will be delivered face-to-face, although a blended teaching format will also be offered. The proposed complementary teaching activities of the module will target specific public outside the University: high school students and practitioners in the field of environmental management in the water and the maritime sector. A research congress will be an opportunity to also generate research around this environmental policy of the EU. The main teaching materials and the results of the congress will be collected in a collective book. A final video disseminated through social media will also collect the results of the module. "
