The purpose of the S3martMed project is to foster interregional and cross-sectoral cooperation between the five major European clusters and their SME members in the field of medical technologies through the establishment of a unique ESCP. The partners of S3martMed, Lyonbiopole, BioWin, BioPmed, MedSilesia and BioRegio STERN, are willing to boost their SME growth on this competitive market that remains complex and fragmented. They will join their forces, their strong knowledge of the MedTech sector and their expertise to support their members on technologies and market issues. The five clusters are fully convinced of the need to go one step further by collaborating with a shared vision and strategy to improve their framework-condition and leverage their activities at an interregional boosting future MedTech innovative projects. In order to implement in the most effective way the S3martMed ESCP, the partners will share their capacities and collaborate closely with their regional stakeholders and their technological centres within the EU Industrial Modernisation Platform, in particular within the “Medical technologies – MedTech thematic area”. To reach their ambition, the partners will set up a joint cluster strategy identifying key investments priorities and joint activities for the emergence of interregional business collaborations. They will offer B2B and C2C networking at interregional level, involving SMEs, Technological centres and key stakeholders. Thanks to a close collaboration with their regions, they will work on recommendations for future smart specialisation investments in line with RIS3 and MedTech thematic area. The ambition is to build a long-term partnership able to foster EU MedTech SMEs and industry competitiveness, fully in line with the COSME’s ambition.
