The Flying Bus: Empowering Marginalized Youth Through Skydiving, Inclusion, and Mental Well-Being Across Europe

The Flying Bus is an inclusion and empowerment initiative using skydiving to provide underprivileged youth with transformative experiences across France, Spain, and Italy. The project aligns with Erasmus+ priorities by promoting social integration, diversity, and mental well-being through sport. Objectives: Offer 45 marginalized young people the chance to experience skydiving and develop confidence, resilience, and inclusion. Select and train six participants (two per country) in a long-term mentorship program leading to professional certifications. Strengthen European cooperation through partnerships with local NGOs, skydiving centers, and social inclusion programs. Implementation: A team will travel in an eco-friendly van, collaborating with local organizations to identify participants. Each stop will host a weekend event featuring tandem skydiving, mentorship, and mental well-being workshops. The project will be documented through social media and a video series, maximizing outreach. Relevance to the Work Programme: Inclusion & Diversity: Makes skydiving accessible to disadvantaged youth, fostering equal opportunities. Mental Health & Well-being: Skydiving helps build confidence, reduce stress, and overcome trauma. Transnational Cooperation: Strengthens EU collaboration through shared training, digital learning (VR skydiving simulators), and mobility. Sustainability: Uses green mobility, partners with Plant-for-the-Planet to offset emissions, and creates long-term career pathways for participants. The Flying Bus will break barriers, connect communities, and inspire the next generation through the transformative power of sport.
