Description

Description

The project general objective is to assess the situation of EU citizens during this geo-political and economic situation, experience how we are facing the consequences in our every-day life and highlight the next steps we should make at individual level to tackle this type of crisis to hold Europe united. The project coordinates citizen debate and action in 6 EU member states and one candidate country on a set of issues focused on the future of Europe in the context of current political changes (the Ukrainian war, the EC and it’s new priorities for the future in the context of the Ukrainian situation), solidarity as a fundamental principle of the EU, economic development in this new situation, and increasing need for intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding. The project will involve other general features such as volunteering and the European Solidarity Corps and brainstorming on how to use solidarity EU instruments such as volunteering or the corps at local and European level. Making possible for citizens to exchange and to cooperate between them, municipalities and NGOs, the activities of the project are in strong concordance with the objectives of the programme, and with the priorities of it. Also, the project promotes inclusion and diversity by promoting social inclusion and aim at improving the outreach to people with fewer opportunities, including people with disabilities and people with a migrant background, with special attention to Ukrainian refugees, as well as people living in rural and remote areas, people facing socio-economic difficulties or any other potential source of discrimination based on gender, racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation. The projects will help addressing the barriers faced by these groups in accessing the opportunities offered by the EU, as well as contributing to creating inclusive environments that foster equity and equality.
