Description | The objective of the Integrated Financial Management and Information System (IFMIS) Project is to increase the Government of The Gambia's (GoTG) capacity in public resource management. There are five components to the project. The first component of the project is IFMIS rollout, interfaces and system training. The component aims at increasing the Government capacity to operate and maintain the IFMIS. The second component of the project is new IFMIS activities. The component aims at laying the groundwork for the introduction of new IFMIS applications. The third component of the project is communications and change management. The component aims at creating greater awareness amongst GoTG government officials and the public at large about the IFMIS through the implementation of the IFMIS communications and change management strategy. Activities under this component will include the production of sensitization materials, and the sensitization of targeted audiences in workshops and seminars, as well as the distribution of circulars, posters, and quarterly newsletter and website updates. The fourth component of the project is accounting and information technology (IT) capacity building for sustainability. The component aims at increasing local capacity in IT and accounting services. The fifth and final component of the project is project implementation support. This component will support the IFMIS Project Coordination Unit (PCU) financing expenditures on office furniture and vehicles, project management activities, and other miscellaneous expenditures. |
