The Implementation of the EU Youth Dialogue in Germany

"The project ""EU Youth Dialogue"" (EU YD) entails the implementation of the Europe-wide EU YD process in Germany. Being the National Youth Council of Germany, the Deutscher Bundesjugendring (DBJR) is applying for this project. DBJR plans to continue to coordinate and chair the German National Working Group. The project implementation will cover the next two EU Council Presidencies and thus the 9th and 10th Cycle of the EU YD. The project implementation will follow the guidelines of the European Steering Groups of the respective Council Presidencies and implement them in the national context as effective youth participation processes, including dialogues with political decision-makers. Due to the diversity of the National Working Group, the EU YD will be docked to different processes and structures of youth work, youth welfare and (youth) policies in Germany. It will be linked to actions and projects of and with young people. Overall, the project offers ALL young people the opportunity to participate. Through a cross-level and cross-sectoral structure, young people can participate on a local, regional, national and European level and bring in their demands and ideas. The topics of young people are decisive for the content of the project. Thus, the European Youth Goals play a prominent role. Through the project implementation, the Youth Goals are to be approached and ultimately to be achieved. Building an inclusive society and promoting sustainability and climate action will not only be focus topics of the 9th EU-YD cycle. They will form the basis of the methodological approach and all activities implemented in the EU YD. The focus will be on qualitative offline and digital participation methods, especially at local and regional level, in order to reach as many young people as possible, including those with fewer opportunities. By enabling young people themselves to shape the project's implementation, a youth-friendly process with a learning dimension is ensured."
