Description | The International Summer School aims to promote discussion, reflection and knowledge exchange on the European integration process and international environment among participants primarily from EU Universities and other institutions in member states and candidate and potential candidate countries. The major objective is sharing the education experience developed through teaching and researching European studies, law and social and behavioural science, especially those that have an impact on economic and social development. Further objectives are creation of the new ideas, contents and new teaching and research methods in the area of multidisciplinary context of the European studies subjects and programs performing and developing at the partner institutions. The main target groups of this project are students and teachers from University of Rijeka and other Universities (Slovenia, Poland, Macedonia, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, etc.) and all students who are interested in the EU topics. The Summer School consists on several teaching, research and debating activities. The program also includes fieldtrips to different parts of Croatia, visits to political and monetary institutions (Parliament and Central bank) and leading companies in the County of Primorje & Gorski Kotar, as well as Istria. The students will be the biggest beneficiaries of this project through which they will be deeply involved not just into the topics related to European Integration, but also, they will get concepts and insights related to their potential future and educational opportunities. Enhancing awareness and knowledge on EU integration topics among students aim additionally to increase future students’ competitiveness on national and EU labour markets.
