Description

Description

The Meadows is an award-winning health facility that opened on-time and on-budget in 2016. It was the Government of Saskatchewan’s first P3 project. The 225 bed facility is separated into 22 “houses” of 10-15 beds, each featuring its own front entrance, parking, kitchen, den, open-concept living room, dining room, and even its own colour scheme, and shares a patio and a spa with its neighbouring house. A common gym, zen room, event space, and walking track are open so all residents can stay active and young at heart. Its world-class design reflects that residents are at home in The Meadows: private adjoining bathrooms with showers, curving hallways to eliminate the sense of lengthy passages, Kanban storage units that can be stocked without entering a resident’s room, multiple skylights, windows in each unit that open to allow in fresh air, accessible closets to keep medical equipment out of sight, an enclosed display case outside each room to display personal treasures, and at all times, maximized views of nature. Residents can cook for themselves and garden in the spring and summer.
