Description

Description

The Namur-Hippodrome neighbourhood project in Montréal: a unique opportunity to develop a complete living environment based on inclusive, resilient, and carbon-neutral principles in Montréal, Québec. The project aims to create a new, inclusive, equitable, and carbon neutral living environment in the Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce (CDN-NDG) borough. The project includes the racetrack site and land to be redeveloped around the Namur metro station, covering 95 hectares. Municipal land ownership (46 hectares) offers a unique opportunity to innovate in urban development and address structural issues by ensuring housing diversity. The project includes the construction of new infrastructure, such as water, sewer, electrical and telecommunications networks, as well as the development of public facilities and green spaces. These improvements will create 28,813 housing units, addressing the housing crisis and supporting sustainable development. The result will be a model neighbourhood that improves quality of life, promotes social equity, and supports ecological and social transitions.
