Description
Description | The main objective of the project is to develop culturally enlightening activities in the Bavarian-Czech border area and to establish it as a new product for long-distance migration, with reference to an important historical-social phenomenon: The fate of the European medieval scholar Johannes Hus in connection with the historical context (Hussite Wars) which his teaching brought. The project thus focuses on the common intangible cultural heritage. The journey/path that Johannes Hus made from Bohemia to Constance, where he was burned at the stake in 1415, was devoted in the past to the German-Czech unification of cities with Hussitic history and tradition. This developed the virtual educational path of tolerance in the footsteps of J. Hus, who represents a challenge to defend tolerance as a fundamental value for peaceful coexistence and engage with prejudices left behind by the Hussite wars. The Bavarian players were already in the process of establishing a new cross-border tourist product (Hus-Weg) on this topic. Hussitic history is still a lively theme in Bavaria. In addition, the part of the path on the Bavarian territory is well historically worked and corresponds to the route of the Golden Road (Bärnau — Sulzbach — Nuremberg). On the Czech side, an initiative from the project lead partner contributes to these efforts. In its framework, a concept for the development of the route was developed and established by local experts and historians the concrete course of the route in the area of the Pilsen region (Kožlany — Kralovice — Rabštejn — Manětít — Bezdružice — Tachov). The project is based on already defined needs. The main results of the project include: functional connections between actors from Bavaria and Bohemia on the route of the Hus-Weges, useful and symbolic marking of the path in the border area. The path is designed as a historical-tourist and uniformly marketed product with international contexts. However, the project also focuses on educational activities in the border area and relies on effective communication with the local population, where pride is to be built on their homeland and shared cultural heritage. |
