Gris Medio is an independent Spanish film production company currently collaborating with Witfilm, a Dutch production company, on the documentary THE PATH THAT WALKS. They previously co-produced LIGHT FALLS VERTICAL. High in the Pyrenees, the Guayente Cooking School welcomes young people with a troubled past every year. This is an intimate, up-close look at their transformative journey. With its sensitive real-life stories, the project touches on broader issues such as resilience, community life, hierarchical structures, prejudice and gender stereotypes. Gris Medio and Witfilm expect to develop THE PATH THAT WALKS further with the support of Creative Europe MEDIA. Gris Medio focuses on auteur-driven documentaries that are story-driven, boldly told, globally relevant and with strong potential for international success. Gris Medio was founded by award-winning Italian actor and director Angelo Orlando, best known for Federico Fellini's VOCE DELLA LUNA, and Greek director and producer Efthymia Zymvragaki, whose film LIGHT FALLS VERTICAL was nominated for Best First Feature in the 2022 IDFA Envision Competition and shortlisted for the 2023 EFA Awards. Some of the company's films have premiered at A-festivals such as Sundance, IDFA, Vision du Réel and have been awarded at the EFA. Witfilm is an award-winning production company based in Amsterdam that focuses on creative, social and youth documentaries as well as arthouse features. Under the leadership of director and creative producer Boudewijn Koole and producer Iris Lammertsma, many of Witfilm's films have been nominated for the Rose d'Or, Tiger Award, IDFA or have won awards such as the International Emmy Award, FIPRESCI Prix Europa, Golden Calf and Prix Italia. THE PATH THAT WALKS is part of EURODOC's 2024 annual programme and we'll be working on its successful development. We expect filming to start in 2027 and festival premieres in 2029.
