The project aims to rehabilitate the irrigation system in the Eastern Terai area. The area is crucial for irrigation, and the aging of the irrigation infrastructure, especially the main canal system, poses significant challenges. Approximately 80% of the design flow is restricted due to various issues, leading to water leakage from both the main canal and lateral distribution channels, affecting the overall water supply. The project also focuses on improving the efficiency of water usage for irrigation and ensuring a stable water supply.
