Description
Description | Fenerbahçe University (FBU) was founded in 2016 by Fenerbahçe Education, Culture and Health Foundation. It is a non-profit university that values education, science, research, and innovation. Fenerbahçe University European Studies Application and Research Center (FBUCES) was established in February 2020 and continues its activities mostly on digital platforms. FBU Jean Monnet Module on “the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights in the EU” (FBU.PROHREU) is designed as a three year long (2 semesters for each year: PROHREU I, PROHREU II) program for the 7th and 8th terms of the Political Science and International Relations BA students and is also integrated as a university elective course into different undergraduate and graduate programs of the Fenerbahçe University. FBU.PROHREU is divided into two semesters because in the first semester students get information about basic key terms and rights. In the second semester, the students are expected to learn about the current violations of rights and the human rights situation in EU member and candidate countries.PROHREU I and PROHREU II are designed in parallel with the FBU’s academic curricula. The module aims to expand and disseminate knowledge about the EU and human rights, and to encourage further research on human rights and the different dimensions of the EU's future. Another objective of the project is to increase the awareness and sensitivity of all possible persons and actors (academics, bureaucrats, policy makers, citizens) involved or not in the promotion of human rights. EU has recently come to the fore in using new ways to disseminate human rights, diversity and harmonization solutions through institutional means.PROHREU I and PROHREU II are consisted of 14 lectures (84 hours per year) for the BA and MA students. For the dissemination activities, 7 Public Debates (2 hours per each) which is open to regional and/or international organizations, human rights institutions, academics, CSOs will be organized. |
