Description

Description

During the so-called “lock-downs” due to the Covid-19, all the European citizens experienced long period at home without any contact with the local society and with the European “brothers”. For these reasons, the “rEU-discovey” project aims to recover all those solidarity and socialization processes among the European countries which were stopped during the last two years of the pandemic. In particular, the project will focus on young people who lost opportunity of learning with their schoolmates and of improving their job skills, giving them possibilities to get a direct dialogue with the European colleagues coming from Italy, Spain, Portugal and Croatia. For example, the “Erasmus” program was suspended for the first time in some countries, and several students lost the opportunity in taking part to the so-called “Erasmus generation”. In this view, the project proposes an alternative approach which consists in an international exchange among young students as result of previous online meeting between the host student and the receiving home. This project will analyse how four municipalities (Guardistallo, Benaguasil, Coruche, Jagodnjak) reacted to the Covid-19 closure, mainly: how young people dealt with the forced-digitalization and how they related with the school and job difficulties, and how the institutions and the communities acted in solidarity towards people more in difficulty, such as elders. The creation of a “European Forum” among students of four different countries will help to share their different traditions, cultures and languages, and it will boost a discussion on how the European Union should react to the current problems, and in which issues the EU should focus its resources for the youth. Finally, an international meeting will be held in Guardistallo which will welcome the three foreign communities with the purpose to establish a long-standing friendship and to spread its idea of “common Europe”.
