The Rose - Accessibility and Efficiency Upgrades

The project will rehabilitate the Rose, a performing arts theatre located in Brampton, Ontario. The work will involve two key types of work: • various accessibility upgrades, such as an accessibility audit; climb-assist railings (upper balcony); replacing a portion of the current fixed seating with removable seating; upgrading of washrooms, including the installation of emergency alarms in public washrooms; a wheelchair lift; • various improvements to operational efficiencies, such as upgrading lighting to LED technology; automating the current rigging system; and upgrading video infrastructure from analog to digital. The project will enhance the accessibility of The Rose for both audiences and artists, and increase efficiency of operations by reducing the time, labour and energy spent to present events and programming.
