The story has had a lasting impact, captivating generations since its initial release as a radio play in 1976 and later as a book in 1978. The producers of ""The Scarab Flies at Dusk"" came together due to their shared appreciation for the original radio play. Monster, the largest producer of high-end drama series in Norway, partnered with the Swedish co-producer NORDIC DRAMA QUEENS, founded by some of the most experienced drama producers from Sweden and Denmark. Together, they form a team with a vast network and experience, coupled with a genuine love and respect for the IP. Importantly, they share a common ambition to create a cultural treasure that will provide shared experiences for children and families for generations to come. Strong partnerships have been forged with our main broadcasters SVT (Sweden) and TV2 (Norway), who are co-producing alongside us. The regional fund ""Film i Väst"" is also a co-producer, and distribution in Denmark is secured through the national broadcaster DR. Fifth Season is on board as the distributor for ROW and has demonstrated confidence in us and the IP by making substantial investments. Our aim is to elevate this Nordic classic to a European standard, a goal that Fifth Season fully supports. Norwegian director, Atle Knudsen, always considering ""The Scarab"" a dream project, played a pivotal role. His vision and track record secured Monster the film rights for this highly sought-after IP. The writer's room transitioned from Norway to Sweden during our collaboration, working with SVT to develop characters and a storyline that better reflects contemporary life. We are now preparing for the shoot in Sweden in spring/summer '24, with a planned premiere in Q4 2025.
