The Second People's Hospital of Changde City

The aim of the project is to improve the quality and capacity of diagnostics and treatment at the Second Peoples Hospital of Changde City (SPHC) by purchasing modern medical equipment and building a new ward building. The project is intended to improve healthcare for the population in Hunan Province and in particular in the third largest city of Changde. The total investment amounts to around EUR 74.3 million, of which EUR 15.0 million is to be financed by the FC development loan. The own contribution includes significant grants from the local government. The hospital, which has been in existence for 56 years, is to be fundamentally expanded in order to be able to meet the increasing demand and become a full-service hospital of the highest national reference class 3A, including training and research. By expanding the hospital's existing specializations and strengthening teaching and research operations, the existing structural elements will be strengthened and demonstration effects achieved. In addition, the project implements elements of the Green Hospital concept.
