Description | The Seminary, a historic Colonial-style seminary building in Old Bennington, Vermont, built in 1829, has been converted into a unique hotel offering pastoral lodgings. The project involved careful restoration and preservation, converting original bedrooms into suites, recreating the bell tower, refinishing floorboards, and repairing millwork. The hotel was soft-launched in late May 2026 and is part of the Place in Mind hospitality and preservation venture, co-founded by architect Rafe Churchill and Casey Sunderland. The project also plans to include the neighboring Walloomsac building, a former inn built in 1771, which will feature more than 40 guest rooms, a restaurant, a spa, and a bathhouse. |
