The Simcoe Road Stormwater Management Facility Remediation and Restoration Project

The Simcoe Road Stormwater Management Facility Remediation will see the Stormwater Management Facility brought to its original design as recommended in the Town’s Comprehensive Stormwater Management Master Plan. Phosphorus loading will be reduced, as the Stormwater Management Facility function will be improved, having a positive impact and improving water quality that enters the West Holland (Lake Simcoe) watershed. These improvements support the initiative of the Lake Simcoe Protection Plan as they relate to phosphorus reduction strategies. This will include the removal of approximately 1900 cubic meters sediments that have accumulated over time and impaired the ponds function. Several structural repairs and area restoration will also be included within the project scope. The removal works are capitalized as they extend the life of the asset.
