The Société de transport de Laval garage expansion (Phase IV)

The project involves the construction of a new garage for the Société de transport de Laval. The expansion provides for an additional area of approximately 19,810 m2. The project aims to add approximately: • 145 new parking spaces with recharging for electric buses; • 10 indoor parking spaces for network supervisor vehicles; and • 10 new work bays with jacks, three bays for complete interior cleaning, two bays without jacks for the electronic repair of buses, two bays for fitting tires. The project also includes: • a new on-street bus exit; and, • an electronics workshop, a stockroom (for parts management), a warehouse, a workshop, new office spaces, a new entrance, new mechanical, electrical and computer rooms, a room for electric bus chargers, a new electric unit and the exterior layout of spaces for new generators. There could also be related work. The project will improve the capacity of public transit infrastructure by supporting the growth of the Société de transport’s vehicle fleet in response to the projected service increase over the next decade and enabling the transition towards a fleet of 100% electric vehicles.
