The white space is a story-driven survival with a visual style that integrates hand-drawn images and 3D graphics. We’ll cross the valleys and mountains of Piedmont (Italy) together with our trusty bicycle, which we will always have to keep fixed through micromanagement systems. The player will cross the valleys, full of extraordinary creatures and characterized by a wonderful artistic style. For decades, the Earth had exceeded the tipping point in climate change, causing tremendous upheavals. Those events brought the human race to the brink of extinction . Only a few communities survived in isolated locations on the planet, and some of those are located in Piedmont, in the north of Italy. The player takes on the role of Dirce, a young researcher sent to study a unique storm phenomenon in this area. The clouds of these storms discharge lightning which could be considered a powerful renewable energy resource, however, those flashes of energy conceal a more complex secret, related to the climatic upheavals. Riding her bike she will cross the valleys, and as her research project progresses, she will uncover the traditions, legends and customs of the local communities. The bike maintenance, which the player will perform through specific mini-games, is central to the progress of the story. The game focuses on exploration and indirectly on enhancing the player’s environmental awareness of sustainable development, all set in an Italian territory not well-known but rich in stories.
