The project involves the construction of two ultra supercritical coal-fired units of 800 MW each, totaling 1,600 MW capacity. Coal will be sourced from CIL's subsidiary Central Coalfields Ltd. The project cost is estimated at Rs 21,000 crore on a 50:50 equity sharing basis, covering development, construction, and commissioning. The plants are targeted to commence commercial operations by 2031-32 to meet India's growing energy demand. |
