Description | The Municipality of San Filippo del Mela (Italy) promotes a Town Twinning titled “Think Green – Be Green. Together for a healthier environment”. The activities will be held from 28 October to 02 November 2025 in Sicily with the participation of different European municipalities coming from IT, HU, PT, MT, BG, and ES. The thematic Focus of the project, with a strong reference to the program guidelines and considering the priorities of CERV Program, will focus on the promotion of the Green Behaviours among citizen and sustainability in local small realities in Europe. Environmental policies in Europe represent a crucial commitment to addressing challenges related to climate change, biodiversity conservation, and sustainability in general. The EU has developed a comprehensive regulatory framework and a series of initiatives to promote green policies across the region. European Green Deal is one of the central pillars of the EU's political agenda. This ambitious plan aims to make Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. These policies and initiatives reflect Europe's commitment to promoting sustainable development, mitigating climate change, and protecting the environment for future generations. The transition to a green economy is a key priority for the European Union and requires the involvement and commitment of all its members and citizens. The activities plan is created with the suggestion and support of the different target group and will be organized thought public workshops, round table, exchanges of best practices, discussions and debates in order to develop an active citizenship. Through these activities, the citizens and local entities shall raise their knowledge and their awareness of the role of EU policies, therefore they will be able to give a contribution to the implementation of the European challenges. The project involves 90 International participants, 150 direct and 100 indirect. |
