Thinking: Literature. Social and cultural significance of reading

The proposed project is in line with our editorial policy to present distinguished European writers and aims at enhancing the cultural cooperation at the European level, strengthening the transnational circulation and diversity of European literary works, developing new audiences and generating European added value. The offered package of 27 titles perfectly presents the contemporary European literature, the aesthetics of writing and expression in a post-postmodern world and addresses the priorities of the present call. The planned activities cover all three translation variations: from one lesser-used language into another; from lesser-used into a major one; from a major one into a lesser-used. On this basis, we can count a total of 11 European languages and 12 countries which will benefit from the project. Further activities include production (editing, proofreading, design, layout, and printing), distribution (in accordance with the long-term distribution agreements of the Bulgarian and German participants) and promotion of the books through all possible channels.Through the formation of a qualified management team with attached to it experts, advisors and associated partners we are positive to ensure the successful implementation of the project including translation and publication of the 27 titles into 3 target languages; production of promotional materials (28000 leaflets, 14000 brochures, 28 webbanners, 19 billboards); recording of 27 interviews with authors/translators, 19 animated advertising videos, 27 ebooks and 8 audiobooks; organisation of 11 literary events, a three-day festival, and 3 business-to-business conferences in Sofia; 4 book presentations and 2 artwork exhibitions in Berlin; 6 professional exchange visits in the EU and beyond. The persons benefiting from the project include 25 authors, 19 translators, 45 book publishing professionals, and a realistic audience of approx. 2000 people live audience and several tens of thousands online viewers.
