Description | The Maharashtra government has initiated the development of Third Mumbai, a large mega township near the Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link (MRHL) and off the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA). The township will have access to the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and will be executed by the New Town Development Authority (NTDA) under the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). It will cover 323.44 sq km, including 124 villages from various notified areas and regional plans. The township aims to be environment-friendly with Smart City features, including residential and commercial complexes to boost the economy and job creation. An EduCity project with top foreign university campuses is planned within a 5 km radius of NMIA. |
