Information RVNL - II has come up with Third Railway Line between Patratu-Sonnagar [281 kms] with a ticket size of 4525 INR Crores. This project in Railway Track sub-sector involves The current status of the project is - and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project The project [Patratu-Sonnagar] section falls in Dhanbad Division of East Central Railway. It passes through the districts of Aurangabad in Bihar and Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Latehar, Palamu & Garhwa in Jharkhand. The line is essential from operational point of view to facilitate faster transportation of coal to Super Thermal Power Plants at Nabinagar and Tandwa as also to act as feeder route for DFC merging at Sonnagar. The project was sanctioned in the year 2015-2016 at the cost of Rs. 4500 crores. The length of the project is 291 km. It shall have 609 minor bridges, 46 major bridges, 43 station building etc. The scheduled completion is 30.09.2022. The project is divided into five packages- Pkg-I from Sonagar-Japla [46 km]- Pkg -II from Japla-Garhwa Road [46 km]- Pkg-III from Garhwa Road-Barwadih [61 km]- Pkg-IV from Barwadih-Tori [73 km]- and Pkg-V from Tori-Patratu [65 km].
