Description | The Rs 495-crore redevelopment project aims to transform Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station with modern architectural design and upgraded passenger-friendly facilities. The work is divided into two segments: north block construction at Thampanoor side and south block at Power House Road side. Piling work is completed and foundation work has started. The project includes a multi-level car parking facility and new south block with offices and passenger amenities. A new building for the running crew has been completed and crew relocation is underway. The project is supervised by Southern Railway Zone and executed by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited and Kerala Rail Development Corporation Ltd. |
