THOMSON-MCDUFFIE DOWNTOWN WALKWAY REVITALIZATION- PHASE II

The proposed project is, Phase II, Thomson Streetscape and Depot, is located in the City of Thomson. The project will begin at the western intersection of Main Street and Railroad Street. The project will continue along Railroad Street to the eastern intersection of Greenway and Railroad Streets. The project will include rehabilitation of the historic Thomson Depot, Railroad Street (south side). The project area includes a newly installed sidewalk and street trees from the Phase I TE streetscape project located on the north side of Railroad Street. The total project will be 600 feet in length. The main purpose of the enhancement project is to improve pedestrian safety and access at entrances to the Thomson Depot; address ongoing drainage and moisture problems that plague the building; rehabilitate the exterior of the building, including roof and exterior walls; provide upgraded access to the facility; and to provide an upgraded meeting facility.
