Three-month special waste management drive by ULBs in Uttar Pradesh

planned

A three-month-long special drive has been launched by all 762 urban local bodies (ULBs) in Uttar Pradesh to ensure waste collection, segregation, and disposal across the state. The drive aims to augment the capacity of nagar panchayats and nagar palikas by utilizing existing solid waste plants, compost pits, material recovery facilities, and construction and debris processing plants. Funds will be provided to local bodies after evaluation of their proposals. A district-level Swachh Goal Promotion Committee will conduct inspections and random visits. User charges will be collected from urban residents to strengthen waste processing infrastructure during the drive.
