DC Blox, an Atlanta-based developer, plans to build a three-building data center campus on the site of the former Ford Visteon manufacturing site in the East Gate neighborhood of Indianapolis. The project involves a more than $2 billion investment, creating 35 permanent high-wage jobs and up to 600 temporary construction jobs over several years. The first phase includes one building and is expected to take up to two years, with the remaining two buildings taking up to four years to complete. DC Blox is seeking a variance of use approval to avoid full rezoning, and has committed to paying for all related costs for a new substation and any additional generation needed.
