Tianjin-Beijing-Daxing high-speed train connection

The project involves the construction of a high-speed rail link within the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei (BTH) metropolitan region between the new Daxing International Airport (south of Beijing) and the port city of Tianjin. The new rail link of around 90 km will also connect other major cities in the BTH metropolitan region and integrate them into the Chinese high-speed network. The KfW development loan of EUR 70 million will finance construction work (around EUR 31 million) and equipment for energy supply and signaling and communication technology (around EUR 39 million). The project is an essential component of the regional development plan drawn up for the BTH metropolitan region, which is intended to implement coordinated, sustainable transport planning for the entire metropolitan region. This aims to direct traffic flows along the main routes and between the most important destinations to rail.
