Description

The project entails the construction of a new port at Tibar Bay, west of Dili, Timor-Leste. The sponsor is Bolloré Group which will develop the facility through design, build, co-finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) basis., EGT Engenharia & FASE Estudos e Projetos (Independent Engineer) was jointly hired to independently supervise the design and construction of the port. The project will require an initial investment of $280 million and a further $210 million in expansion costs. The public-private partnership involves an initial investment of US$148.85 million from private partners and US$129.45 million from the government, with Bolloré Port investing another US$211.7 million over the concession period. It comprises the development of a 630 meter wharf with a draught of 15 meters, and a 24 ha yard along the western side of Tibar Bay, along with container storage, equipment and other infrastructure required by a modern cargo terminal.
