Description | Tijuana-Tecate interurban rail link will run from the San Ysidro-Tijuana land port of entry on the US border to the Ejido Maclovio Rojas municipality in eastern Tijuana, and will include seven stations - Kino, Américas Oriente / Xolos, La 5 and 10 , Swap Meet Siglo XX1, García, Terán Terán and El 2000– and terminals in San Ysidro and Maclovio Rojas. A consortium formed by Citcocomex Group and FMI Proyects has been picked by Mexico’s Baja California state to construct the 2.5bn-peso (US$126mn). A 30-year state contract was signed in December 2020. Construction started in March 2021. Works of the first stage should take 24 months.
