The power plant was named Central Eolica Tilawind. In 2012, Tilawind Corporation signed a 20-year power purchase agrément with the Costa Rican utility ICE after taking part in a competitive bidding. The company winning offer was a rate of US$ 86/MWh. The sponsors created the special purpose company Tilawind Corporation. Information on the investment amount was not available. In 2014, the state-owned bank Banco Nacional granted a US$ 40 million for the project. In February 2014, Tilawind Corporation had signed an equipment supply contract with Vestas. Construction works started in 2014, and operations were expected to commence in the second semestre of 2015. Changed investment year back to 2014. |
